My love for water sports started about 10 years ago when I taught kayaking and surfing at a summer camp. When I moved to Ventura a few years ago I decided to join an outrigger team but found that I wasn’t as in to the racing scene as I was in to the exploration and fitness part of it, and from there I naturally fell into paddle boarding. It is great exercise and I get to explore new places that can’t always be accessed by land.
I found yoga a few years ago, I had made a huge life change and was needing something in my life to help alleviate the stress. I knew exercise helped with stress and had heard good things about yoga and decided to give it a try. I started to feel the benefits immediately. I felt more confident and less stressed, I even found that I was handling stressful situations in my everyday life better. Needless to say I was hooked!
I think yoga means something different for everyone. For me it is something I can do that makes me feel good about myself, because I feel challenged in body and mind and I can see results. To be able to bring my practice onto the water and combine two activities I love is an absolute blessing that I am excited to share!
